Jay co-founded AGW after years of providing institutional investment consulting services to qualified plans, foundations and endowments, and private clients. He is responsible for the AGW’s compliance with the SEC and other regulatory authorities and is a member of the firm’s investment committee. Jay also is the lead consultant for a number of AGW client engagements and has over fifteen years of industry experience.
Prior to forming AGW in 2009, Jay worked with CapTrust Financial Advisors, where he was a senior investment consultant from 2001 -2009. Jay also worked with Salomon Smith Barney and later First Union Securities (the predecessor to Wells Fargo Securities) as a portfolio analyst and securities trader.
Jay is a graduate of the University of Florida where he received a degree in Economics with honors. He has also taken multiple post-graduate courses at the Wharton School of Business where he completed the Certified Investment Strategist and Certified Investment Management Analyst programs. In addition, Jay has earned designations as a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®), and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®).
Jay is active in the industry and his community as a member of the Investment Management Consultant’s Association® (IMCA®) and as a member and graduate of Leadership Tampa, as well as through Berkeley Preparatory School, Hyde Park Methodist Church, and several other social organizations.
P. J. is responsible for AGW’s investment research and strategy, leads the firm’s investment committee, and manages a number of AGW’s client relationships. He has over fifteen years of industry experience and is highly credentialed having earned his charter as a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®), as well as designations as a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), and Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®). P. J. has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal and other business and financial publications.
A native Floridian, P. J. is a graduate of the University of Florida where he received a degree in Finance with honors. He later returned to the University of Florida where he earned a Master of Business Administration. P. J. has also taken multiple post-graduate courses at the Wharton School of Business where he completed the Certified Investment Strategist and Certified Investment Management Analyst programs.

J. advised numerous foundations and endowments, qualified plans, and private clients on investment policy, asset allocation, investment manager research, and performance measurement and evaluation.
P. J. is active in the industry and his community through CFA Tampa Bay, the Investment Management Consultant’s Association®(IMCA®), Conn Memorial Foundation, Florida United Methodist Foundation, Florida Department of Financial Services - Division of the Treasury, Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA, Hyde Park Methodist Church, and several other social organizations.
Paul is an investment consultant and a co-founder of the firm. He is also responsible for the firm’s finance and operations activities and serves on the firm’s investment committee.
Prior to co-founding AGW Capital Advisors, Paul held positions as managing director with Seabreeze Holdings, Inc., partner with One Equity Partners (a private equity subsidiary of Banc One, now JP Morgan), and associate with Continental Illinois Venture Corporation (a private equity subsidiary of Bank of America). Two other formative positions that Paul held were with Parthenon Group, a strategy consulting firm, and Eaton Vance Management, an investment management firm.
Building on his fifteen years of private equity and strategy consulting background, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and insight into capitalizing, monitoring, and leading private companies. He has invested in (and been a director of) companies with revenues ranging from $25 million to $500 million within a variety of industries, including telecommunications infrastructure, commercial maintenance, and healthcare.
Paul earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Boston College and his Master of Business Administration from The Tuck School at Dartmouth College. Paul is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charterholder.
Outside of work and family, Paul has always had a strong desire to give back to his community and has done this in a significant way as a trustee of the Tampa Bay History Center and the Tampa Preparatory School.
Charlie joined AGW in 2015 after more than 20 years of working in the investment banking and alternative investments industries. Previously, Charlie worked with Vinik Asset Management, a multi-billion dollar long/short equity fund. He was also a partner with Oakpoint Advisors, an alternative investment advisory firm that he originally joined at its inception and rejoined in 2013. Prior to Oakpoint, Charlie was with Winston Partners, a $1.4 billion long/short equity fund of funds. From 1998 to 2002, Charlie was a Vice President in Corporate Finance at Lehman Brothers, and previously was in the merger & acquisition departments at Barclays and Houlihan Lokey.
Charlie is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce. Charlie received his Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Charlie is active in his community through the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, and other social organizations.
Kathy joined AGW in 2009 as our director of client relations. Boasting twenty-nine years in the financial services industry, Kathy is a seasoned professional with experience that includes relationship management, portfolio trading, administration, and accounting. Kathy’s career in the financial services industry began in 1984 at Coopers & Lybrand, where she was a facilities coordinator.
Kathy moved on to Merrill Lynch in 1992 where she assumed the role of senior registered client associate – a title that she held for more than seventeen years. While at Merrill Lynch, Kathy was instrumental in establishing the service standards within her team of advisors, which were later adopted by several other Merrill Lynch advisory teams.
Abby joined AGW in 2014 and has over 17 years of financial experience including project management, treasury functions, and financial accounting and reporting. Prior to joining AGW, Abby worked as controller for Kennedy Investments and held positions previously at Bank of America, Crescent Resources, Turner Construction and Hallmark Homes.
Abby earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her masters in Accounting and Financial Management from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management.
